Turn the tables is a philanthropy run by the Kappa Pi chapter of Sigma Nu. The event works closely with Cal Poly’s Safer program and is designed to help raise sexual assault awareness.
This is the second time that the Kappa Pi chapter has done this philanthropy and we were able to raise $2025. All of the proceeds go to RISE, a non-profit organization which provides crisis intervention and treatment services to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence and their loved ones.
This years winner for best table was Alpha Omicron Pi.
Gamma Phi Beta won Sigma Nu’s favorite table.
Alpha Phi won most creative table.
This February Sigma Nu Kappa Pi Chapter had our 7th annual Ducky Derby Philanthropy Event. We are happy to announce we raised $10,380.47 for Jack’s Helping Hand. Jack’s Helping Hand is a nonprofit located in San Luis Obispo that helps the families of children with cancer and other special needs pay for everything from medical bills to transportation and lodging.
As for the event itself, the Ducky Derby was a great success. There was a great turnout and everybody had a great time with the live band, face painting, and corn hole. Congratulations to Carol Armstrong for being the winner of this year’s prize, a custom Ducky Derby surfboard!
Thank you again to all of our sponsors and supporters that helped make this event a success.
